Nestled on 28 acres, 1.2km south of the junction of highways 11 and 20 at Sylvan Lake, Alberta, this equine practice includes pastures, spacious mare and foal pens, stallion pens, indoor box stalls and foaling stalls.

2010 Breeding Season

Despite very challenging weather conditions, the continuation of Contagious Equine Metritis in the US, and a sluggish horse market, we have once again had a very good season. We had an overall conception rate of 85% this year.

Heide Vet Services Gives back!!

Once again we have been faced with some starved animals in 2010. this last winter has been a hard one as its been very cold and hay was expensive and in short supply. we had 6 horses up for adoption, and are happy to say that they have all been placed in new homes. We appreciate all of the calls to help and offer a home for these horses.

STAFF

Dr. Brian Heide   BSc. DVM  IVAS

- Brian Graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in 2002. In his early career he developed a keen interest in several areas of equine reproduction, medicine and surgery. In 2007 ,together with his wife Jackie, he purchased the clinic to expand his interests in these areas. They welcomed their little boy Chase in January 2008. Brian owns and breeds cutting horses while his wife Jackie rides Arabian and half Arabian show horses.

Allison Miller,   AHT

-Allison Miller graduated from the animal health technician program at Olds College in 2007. She started at Heide Veterinary Services in Feb 2008 after working in her hometown clinic in Wetaskiwin. She has become a valuable member of our health care team. Allison loves riding and when not working can usually be found on the back of her horse.

Tina Walker

Tina Walker came to Heide Veterinary Services in June 2008. Tina was a longtime employee of D.Dalton Equine Veterinary Services (the previous face of HVS). She is an accomplished horsewoman who is involved in the Paint Horse show world. She is also a valuable member of our health care team.
